PROCESS. Cumene & air are pumped through to the reactor, separation, and pumped to other reactor, then it is purificated

This process is in two step.

In the first reactor, cumene is oxidated to cumene hydroperoxide, using dilute aqueous sodium carbonate solution. the purpose of the cumene emulsion is to permit good contact of the cumene with oxygen

In the second reactor, the cumene hydroperoxide is add acid, in order to convert to phenol.
