Why doYOU want to be an engineer?

Well, since I went to uni and got the degree, then worked 24 years at it, it would be kind of silly not to be one....
However, I suspect that is not a helpful answer....

I went into engineering because I had a good handle on math and science, wa interested in problem solving, had mechanical aptitude, and knew the salary would be good.

I already am, so I dont "want any more!

Why did I want? As a child and teenager I simply found enjineering fascinating. Fiddling around, trying to understand how thing work and making new things work had an enormou appeal to me. Even today I cannot understand how anyone can fail to find enjineering interesting. When I later also discovered that you can actually get quite well paid for doing thi, I didnt need to consider anything else.
