Compare just how not-very-round some tiny celestial bodies are:

Compare just how extremely round some very massive and compact celestial bodies are:

Gravity shapes them, gravity i symmetric, and sphere are the most symmetric solid.

Thats because of the nature of gravity.

Why are you a jackwagon? Gravity. thats the answer to both of our questions Everything in the universe will eventually become perfectly round including u due to the forces of gravity. gravity pulls all matter to the most dense area and in a spherical shape all the surface points are as close to the center of gravity as possible

I alway assumed it cos they are spinning, like because of gravity and such i might be wrong, but thats just what ive alway thought

Planets are spherical because of the force of gravity. All of the matter that surrounds the core of the planet must be distributed as evenly as possible around the force. Planets actually arent perfectly spherical, they are slightly wider around the equator due to the gravity of other planets, and due to the rotation of the planet around it Polar Axi.

Gravity shapes them slowly and gradually.
