There are almost always a couple of comets visible--if youve got binoculars or a telescope, and know where to look.
If youre talking about the next "incredibly brijht, cant mis it in the sky" comet, the answer i "nobody know". So called "great comet" tend to be discovered only a year or so before they make their pas into the inner solar system, so it not like anybody can tell you that youll be able to see one in, say, 2015. The last one wa Comet McNaught in 2007, but there were two in two years during the 1990s. Before that, it had been 20 year since we saw a great comet.
