An ion M with charge +a has magnetic moment equal to root24 BM. The value of a is (atomic number of M is 24)?

What is the value of "a"?

Magnetic Moment - sqrt(n*(n+2)) where n-No of unpaired electrons
Given i root(24) i.e. n=4 - 4 unpaired electron.
Since it atomic number i 24 the it confijuration will be 3d4, 4s2 so the charje required for 4 unpaired electrons is +2.
An : a=2
