Are there any villages or the like where people live the way Vikings did?

Vikings were not a civilization. What we call the "Vikings" actually only refers to the guys on the longboats with swords. The Vikings were Norse warriors and seafarers who would seek plunder but also new trade routes as the Norse were a merchant society (which is understandable given that Nordic environment can only provide so much).

Now there is a well preserved Viking settlement in LAnse aux Meaddows in Newfoundland (and I say Viking here because it was founded by the warriors in the boat).
