| Post subject: | WHAT DO I DO WHEN I GOT PRICKED BY SYRINGE WITH BLOOD IN IT? |
Just this afternoon, we have practices about drawing blood from our training partner in median cubital vein. We are all beginners, as I am bit nervous and shaky. I draw blood and fill the 3cc syringe but as I take off both the needle and needle cap to exchange it to red top tube. I only got the needle cap and try to recap it again and I accidently pricked my middle finger. There is blood coming out and I try to sanitize it with alcohol. My instructor is there and said theres no need to worry about because my partner is healthy and no other diseases. I am still scared that it might be contaminated and I might grieve it for the rest of my life. |
