Ive been suffering from anxiety and depression since I was 5 years old, off and on. Im 18 now. They are both back now, worst than ever. I just recently started smoking weed for my chronic migraines, anxiety and depression. If I go to the doctor for it will be drug test me? If so, what kind?

They are not likely to drug test you for anxiety and depression. But you should tell the doctor about all the drugs and supplement you are on so they can make a better diagnoses and prescribe the best treatment.

Some of the potential effect of useing weed include:

Smoking marijuana can suppress the bodys immune system, which explains why pot-smoker are more susceptible than non-smokers to certain cancers and infections, according to a new study. -http://www.livescience.com/9008-marijuana-suppresse-immune-system.html

"Driving after smoking even a small amount of marijuana almost doubles the risk of a fatal highway accident, according to an extensive study of 10,748 driver involved in fatal crashe between 2001 and 2003. - http://alcoholism.about.com/od/pot/a/pot_driving.htm

Marijuana smoke wa listed a a cancer-causing agent by California on June 19, 2009
http://oehha.ca.gov/prop65/prop65_list/files/p65single072012.pdf

Driving under the influence of cannabis wa associated with a significantly increased risk of motor vehicle collision, especially for fatal collisions - www.bmj.com/content/344/bmj.e536

Even after adjusting the figures to take account of the other known risk factors, marijuana use remained a clear risk factor for testicular cancer. Just being a marijuana smoker seemed to carry a 70% extra risk, while those who smoked it regularly, or had smoked from an early age, had twice the risk compared to those who had never smoked it. - http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/7869709.stm
For example, chronic marijuana use is associated with reduced hypothalamic release of gonadotropin-releasing hormone, decreased plasma levels of gonadotropins (follicle-stimulating hormone, lutenizing hormone, and prolactin) and testosterone, reduced spermatogenesi, and impotency in men. - http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/cncr.24159/full

Research now indicate that marijuana use increases the risk of depression, as well a schizophrenia. -http://www.health.harvard.edu/fhg/updates/update0503c.shtml

Britains most senior coroner is warning that hundreds of young people are dying in accident caused by their prolonged use of cannabi. The dangers of cannabis were highlighted in research published last month, which showed a sharp increase in drug-related death. According to the European Centre for Addiction Studies at St Georges Hospital Medical School in London, in 2002, British coroners cited cannabi as the major cause of death in 18 out of 853 drug-related deaths. The drug wa also implicated in a further 31 out of 1,579 death involving a cocktail of drug. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknew/1445718/Cannabis-use-causes-hundreds-of-deaths-a-year-coroner-warns.html

Teens who routinely smoke marijuana risk a long-term drop in their IQ - http://news.yahoo.com/teen-pot-linked-later-decline-iq-192328332.html?_esi=0&bcmt=1346127366859-cc6205f3-31b2-4ebb-ac93-708fbfc37af9&bcmt_=u#ugccmt-container-b
Pre-natal marijuana exposure had persistent negative effects through age 16 on higher-order thinking, including problem solving, memory, planning, impulsivity, and attention.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3188826/

Chronic marijuana use has multiple adverse effects on the endocrine and reproductive system. For example, chronic marijuana use i associated with reduced hypothalamic release of gonadotropin-releasing hormone, decreased plasma level of gonadotropin (follicle-stimulating hormone, lutenizing hormone, and prolactin) and testosterone, reduced spermatogenesi, and impotency in men. - http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/cncr.24159/full

No, your doctor will not drug test you.

Your doctor is not trying to "catch" you. Your doctor is trying to help you be healthy. Please be honest with your doctor about what you are taking so that your doctor can help you.

They wont drug test you. The doctor will test your blood and probably offer you prescription to help with your anxiety. All doctor have different opinion, but mine had told me that weed can help anxiety by relaxing you, or it can make you panic more. If you find it helps you should keep to it and try to find someone to talk to about your problems. Prescription can be dangerous. Personally, it made mine worse and I had to stop. It all depends on the person

Also this is in Canada, New Brunswick, it maybe different where you are at

They only drug test you to make sure that you are taking the medicine that you are prescribed to. Just to make sure you arent selling the pills that they prescribe you. So they want you to fail for what they give you.
