Like a good citizen, I went to vote. And I was initially pleased at the big crowd. Nice turnout, I thought. Then I discovered that the crowd seemed to largely be due to the utter chaos in there. Elevated noise level, people trying to latch on to workers for help, utter confusion in terms of where to go, workers shouting over the noise to direct people. But the worst was the new voting machines and situations - nothing private, nothing orderly, and nothing trustworthy about the new system, which apparently was breaking down repeatedly.
Totally unpleasant experience.
