Ok, so I"ve been "seeing" things in my moms room lately...they candid to god appear just like ghosts. She used to be into the occult when she was younger but now she"s a christian and is done with that stuff.
Sometimes, the "ghosts" look like really big dogs running into a corner and dissapearing, and other times, just really tall people. They don"t bother anyone at all so I was thinking if they were ghost, could they be residual? They do make noises sometimes and i get uncomfortable. My sister sees them sometimes too. What do you ponder?

You can try and communicate, they cannot see or hear you because they arent a spirit or ghost, just an imprint of the past. I believe I have seen myself one night as a residual, you dont have to be dead. I heard foot steps, and I woke up to see a man walking fast and coming my way, he walked like me and looked like me, and when he got closer he disappear, at first I thought it wa a ghost because it looks and sounds so real.

I think you should make sure the carbon monoxide level in your house arent too high. Get a CO2 monitor and check. I also have a hunch you see these thing when you stare into the darkness or look to the corner of your eye. These are most likely visual illusions.

i dont think its a residual haunting. it might be shadow people.

residual hauntings are the result of a ghost attached to their surroundings. They do not see you and have no idea that you are there. They go about doing whatever it is that they are doing. Usually its about the same time, day or night. Perhaps whomever lived in the house before you is still there. There is no way to make them stop, but since they do not interact with you there is nothing to fear. they wont hurt you.

Sorry if I go contrary to other answers but there is no residual spirit. A spirit is either a spirit or not. Sometimes even after a person abandons occultism and spiritism, the wicked spirits, the demons, continue influencing a persons life. Demons will use different tactics to mislead people. So if you ever hear such a "voice," do not be deceived. Reject whatever it says, and echo Jesus words: "Go away, Satan!"
