Since I"ve never seen a picture of Jesus (photographic pictures were not invented yet), he sat for no portraits, and I know of no scripture that states Jesus had a beard, I don"t know that the statement before your question is accurate.

I always found the universal image of Jesus to be pretty ridiculous. I"m an atheist, but even if I was a Christian, I"d find it hard to believe Jesus looked anything like that. He probably looked more like that Harvey Pikar guy or Christopher Molitsanti from the Sopranos with scraggly hair and a long beard. If memory serves, doesn"t the bible describe him as peasant like and homely

I bet if Jesus were to make his second coming today he"d probably be shipped off to Guantanamo.

I am a Christian.

I have a beard.

But I have it because I an too lazy to shave.

Not because I am a Christian.

Although in the past, Christians have chosen their appearance based on the bible, but it mainly applied to women. Nowhere in Christ"s teachings did it state that you had to wear a beard, or look a thing like Him, in order to be a proper Christian.

As Jesus had beard, shouldnt the Christians love and grow beard

But I found most of the Christians dislike beards and Christian priests are clean shaved.
