Need a little help regarding interfacing some ID-12la with an Arduino Mega for particular build.?

So Im currently working on a project and Im sorta stuck. Here are the details. what I m trying to do is interface 5 ID-12la RFID readers each with a usb rfid module and a Bluetooth module. I m using an Arduino Mega for this particular project. The Bluetooth module is connected to the Serial port 0. 3 of the rfid readers are connected to Serial ports 1,2 and 3. The persist 2 are connected via 2 software serial connections on pins 10 and 11. The first problem is I can only read from 4 readers at a time. I want to be competent to read using the soft serial when there is data coming from the reader, an idea or a gentle nudge in the right direction would be appreciated. The second is upon using them I realized that I can t use them to scan at habitual intervals or "at while". So to be frank is there a way to do so? Any help would be appreciated.
