Regulators urged to move faster on Pennsylvania pipeline projects

Three Pennsylvania trade associations called on federal and state regulators to move more quickly on their reviews of proposed natural gas pipelines in the commonwealth. Prolonged delays of decisions could hurt not only producers unable to get their gas and gas liquids to markets, but also local communities that need impact fee revenue to help meet growing demand for basic services, they warned in a Sept. 28 teleconference with reporters.

API economist calls for gas pipelines to New England as winter nears

New England consumers, who will pay much more for electricity and natural gas than their counterparts elsewhere in the US because of inadequate interstate gas pipeline capacity, are the exception to an otherwise good supply picture heading into the winter heating season, the American Petroleum Institutes chief economist said.

Guyanas Ministry of Natural Resources has announced plans to build an onshore oil and gas facility in that country as it attempts to optimize opportunities from the massive ExxonMobil Corp. oil discovery and future petroleum exploration and production.

Natural gas in underground storage in the Lower 48 was 4.017 tcf as of Nov. 4, an increase of 54 bcf from the previous week, the US Energy Information Administration reported.

Venezuela on Dec. 5 reportedly will sign an agreement with neighboring Trinidad and Tobago to supply the Caribbean twin-island nation with as much as 500 MMcfd of natural gas from its fields in the Mariscal Sucre region.

NETL study identifies key methane emitters along US gas supply chain

About 1.7% of the methane in the US natural gas supply chain is emitted between extraction and delivery, according to a 2-year study by analysts at the US Department of Energys National Energy Technology Laboratory.

Moodys expects global LNG prices to remain low beyond 2020 as a wave of fresh supply comes online while demand from the worlds largest importers is weakening. Global oversupply will peak at about 55 million tonnes/year in 2019, according to the rating agencys report, Global Liquefied Informal Gas Industry: Market Imbalance Will Continue Beyond 2020, Keeping a Lid On Prices.
