Origin Energy Ltd., Sydney, has completed its program of shedding
noncore assets with the sale of the Darling Downs natural gas pipeline
in southeast Queensland to Jemena Gas Pipelines Holdings for $392
million (Aus.).

A one agency, one decision review structurewith firm deadlines to complete environmental reviews and permit applicationshighlighted the Trump administrations proposal to rebuild US infrastructure when it was released on Feb. 12. Officials from both the US Chamber of Commerce and the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America welcomed the plan and said it provided an important starting point.

Shell: LNG outlook points to potential global supply shortage

The global LNG market has continued to defy expectations of many market observers, with demand rising 29 million tonnes to 293 million tonnes in 2017, according to Royal Dutch Shell PLCs annual LNG Outlook.

EIA: US gas reserves increase at yearend 2016, crude remains flat

The US Energy Information Administration said average first-of-the-month prices used to calculate US reserves dropped in 2016 compared with 2015. Natural gas and crude oil decreased by a respective 6% and 15% during the period.

ExxonMobil Australia is considering the import of LNG into eastern Australia to help ease the predicted shortfall of gas supply from 2021 and protect its existing market share. The company also is increasing its exploration program in Bass Strait as well as considering the development of a field extension called West Barracouta.

Ohio EPA concerns lead FERC to partially halt work on Rover Pipeline

The US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission ordered Rover Pipeline LLC
to not begin new horizontal directional drilling (HDD) as it constructs
the natural gas transmission project across Ohio.

BLM issues final EIS for major natural gas project in Wyoming

The US Bureau of Land Management issued a final environmental impact statement for the proposed Normally Pressured Lance natural gas development project in Wyoming. The June 21 action came about 30 days before a final decision was reached on the project, which would be south and west of Jonah field in Sublette County.

Saudi Arabia reports post-audit reserves of 268.5 billion bbl

Saudi Arabia reported that it now holds 268.5 billion bbl of proved crude oil reservesa figure higher than the previously reported 266.3 billion bbl. Saudi Arabias Energy Ministry also revised upward the countrys natural gas reserves to 325.1 tscf as of yearend 2017.
