| Post subject: | The House of the Devil Director Ti West takes on THE INKEEPE |
The House of the Devil Director Ti West takes on THE INKEEPERS I really enjoyed Ti West"s 80"s vintage horror film The House of the Devil. I loved the style of the movie and the slow burning build up to the climax of the movie. I"m happy to see that he"s scored a new directing project called The Inkeepers, whichnbsp;follows the last two staffers of a haunted hotel that"s going out of business.nbsp; This film definitely sounds like something he would be able to bring to life in a fantastically terrifying way. West said he intends for Innkeepers to be "a truly terrifying" follow-up to his 2009 movie The House of the Devil. The movie will start shooting in Connecticut this spring. |

| Post subject: | Sundance 2010 Video Discussion: THE VIOLENT KIND - Disgrace |
Sundance 2010 Video Discussion: THE VIOLENT KIND - Disgrace of the Festival One of the worst movies we saw at Sundance this year was a film called The Violent Kind. We aren"t sure how this movie made it into the festival but it did, and boy oh boy did it suck. We sat down to do a little 5 minute discussion of the film and we ended up ranting about it for close to 20 minutes. We really dig into this film and tear it apart. Just so you know we do go into spoiler territory.nbsp; |

| Post subject: | Director Pierre Morel Talks more about DUNE - Pushing for 3D |
It sounds like director Pierre Morel is gearing up to dive into the film production of Frank Herbert"s Dune. He"s talked about his plans for the film a couple times already, but this is the first first time he"s mentioned a couple of things that I haven"t heard before. He reveals that they are starting from scratch, that they will not move forward with anything that the previous director Peter Berg was working on.nbsp;
It"s good to hear they are starting from scratch. It seemed Bergs version was going to be more of a action adventure spectacle. Morel has expressed how much of a fan he is of the novel and is planning on sticking as close to the novel as possible. He"s is going to be putting a lot of focus on his Dune film and will start writing the new screenplay in February.
He then goes on to talk about how the film is intimidating, due to the fact that he"s a huge fan of the book series.
As much as I liked Lynch"s version of the film, I"ve been waiting for someone to come along to do a stronger adaptation of the book, and I"m happy that it"s finally going to happen. He then adds that he would definitely be interested in making the film in 3D.
I think Dune could work great in 3D if they do it at the same quality that Cameron used in Avatar. I"m getting pretty excited about this new Dune film. I know it"s in the early stages and has a ways to go before we get to see it, but it seems like everything is headed in the right direction. What do you think |

| Post subject: | LOST: Review of The Season Premiere |
Itrsquo;s currently very early morning. I have to be in San Francisco today, so I should be asleep right now. However Irsquo;m not. Thatrsquo;s because Irsquo;m still thinking about what happened in the LOST season premiere. If you were fortunate enough to see the two hours of fantastical goodness, then you know what Irsquo;m talking about. Damon Lidelof and Carlton Cuse had explained that they would answer all our burning questions. They promised results, and I feel they came through with some of them tonight. They gave us two timelines to wrap our brains around. One where the Oceanic flight lands safely in LAX, and people are going on with their lives. The other timeline consists of the island inhabitants dealing with the fact that they are still stranded on the island, and nowhellip; Jacob is dead. This new strategy of showing us the timelines is fascinating. No flashbacks. No flash forwards. No present and past. Just following the stories of people who are unaware of whatrsquo;s going on. But enough about that, letrsquo;s talk about the biggest news of all. What is the smoke monster Smoke Monster and JacobSince the first season that pesky smoke monster has been tormenting the islanders, and the burning question on everyonersquo;s mind was: What is it Why is it there
I think the general consensus on the situation is this: Jacob and Smoke monster have been fighting for centuries now. Jacob has always had the upper hand, and the two beings travel in and out of the bodies of dead people as they see fit. Kind of weird, but hey, itrsquo;s LOST, so Irsquo;m okay with it. Finally when the loop hole that is talked about in Season 5 presents itself, Ben is manipulated into killing Jacob, and now Smoke Monster Locke has the upper hand which is a problem for all of Jacobs followers, namely the others. This leads me to my next topic. The Other "OTHERS"We get to see the inside of the temple, and it turns out there are people that look like they came right out of an Indiana Jones movie. Irsquo;m not saying thatrsquo;s a bad thing, just wondering where these people have been the whole time So now it seems two factions exist among the others. There is one group that lives inside the temple grounds with the magical spring, and one group that lives with Richard in the jungle. As I watched the other others appear, my friends who were watching with me groaned. Who can blame them either Here we have a brand new question popping up in the final season, and all we can think of is, ldquo;How are they going to explain thisrdquo; However, despite the turbans and the Japanese translation that took up more time then I cared for, I am still pleased with everything. Alternate TimelineIrsquo;m especially pleased with the alternate timeline at LAX. Thus far, it seems more interesting then what is happening on the island. Thatrsquo;s a first for me, as I have always hated watching anything that happened off the island. But for some reason watching Locke talk to Boone about his walkabout, Charlie choking on heroin, Kate thwarting authorities again, and Jack still struggling with his fatherrsquo;s death brought back fond memories of the pilot. As for Desmond appearing out of nowherehellip; Where did he disappear to QuestionsNow here are some things I would like to ask. Is it just me, or does anyone else want to know what happened to that coffin that was on board. Is it possible that the coffin is still on the island, or that Christian plays a role in the overall plot Where are Michael and Waltnbsp;Were they not shown because Walt went through a growth spurt, and they canrsquo;t show him until later, or are they just avoiding that completely Why does Ash Repel the Smoke Monsternbsp;I find the idea interesting, but whatrsquo;s with him being pushed back by something so simple Is Sayid Jacob nownbsp;LOST has always had the religious connotations, but nothing was more apparent to me then the obvious baptism, or rebirth, and the way Sayid had his arms laying in the shape of a cross. Was this supposed to mean that he would live again My theory is that, he is no longer Sayid, but rather a vessel for Jacob. That would support my taking over bodies theory. Are they going to bring back the lame love triangle between Jack, Sawyer, and Kate I thoroughly enjoyed the Sawyer with Juliet story, and was brought to near tears when they forced me to watch her die again; no homo. However, this leaves the door open for the rehashing of something that has already happened, and I pray that what I think will happen, wonrsquo;t. What did Juliet mean when she said, ldquo;it worked.rdquo;nbsp;I have no theory on this, so please enlighten me fellow LOST fans. According to Smoke Locke, Lockersquo;s last thought was, ldquo;I donrsquo;t understand.rdquo; Does anyone else find that depressing I could go on and on, but for the interest of time, and the fact that I need to be in San Francisco in about 12 hours, I will end with this question: Is there any significance in Jackrsquo;s statement to Locke in the airport when he says, ldquo;Nothing is irreversiblerdquo;nbsp; |

| Post subject: | IRONCLAD Medieval Movie Poster |
Ironclad is described as a "medieval Magnificent Seven that promises wham-bam action, epic emotion and gore. Lots of gore." In the poster below we definitely can see the prospect of lots of gore, actor James Purefoy"s sword is covered in blood. I don"t know if you saw the first leaked trailer that came out last month, but it looked pretty freakin awesome. This is a movie I"m definitely excited to see. Here"s the synopsis: It is the year 1215 and the rebel barons of England have forced their despised King John to put his royal seal to the Magna Carta, a noble, seminal document that upheld the rights of free-men. Yet within months of pledging himself to the great charter, the King reneged on his word and assembled a mercenary army on the south coast of England with the intention of bringing the barons and the country back under his tyrannical rule. Barring his way stood the mighty Rochester castle, a place that would become the symbol of the rebel"s momentous struggle for justice and freedom. The film has a great cast that includesnbsp;Paul Giamatti, James Purefoy, Kate Mara, Brian Cox, Bob Hoskins, William Moseley,nbsp;andnbsp;Jason Flemying.nbsp; Check out the poster below and tell us what ya think! nbsp; |

| Post subject: | News Corp. Pushing For AVATAR Sequel but not any time Soon |
It"s no surprise at all that FOX wants James Cameron to make a sequel to Avatar, it"s no surprise that they are really pushing him to make it, it"s no surprise that James Cameron has some great ideas for it, and it"s no surprise that they are discussing it with each other. After all the movie has made well over $2 billion dollars. Just don"t expect the sequel to happen anytime soon. News Corp. CEO Rupert Murdoch says that the conglomerate is in "very early talks about it." Director James Cameron "has ideas" for a sequel, but they "haven"t come to any agreement with him or budget or timing."nbsp;he then say"s "We will be pushing for one." Then adds that we shouldn"t hold our breaths for an early one, due to the fact that Cameron usually takes his making his films making sure they are pitch perfect. There is no doubt in my mind that we will see another Avatar film. It seems both Fox and Cameron are interested in making one and they both have intentions of doing it. It"s just a matter of working out the details. THR also reports that,
What the hell! Avatar made over $2 billion dollars and they still have issues with financing a sequel They arenbsp;worriednbsp;about Cameron going over budget Avatar made $2 billion dollars! "Financing details could come together" What the hell are wrong with these studios I just think it"s crazy that the funding to the sequel of the most successful movie ever made is coming up as an issue. |

| Post subject: | Paramount Pictures looking to make TRANSFORMERS 3 in 3D |
Surprised! Yeah me neither. Paramount Pictures is considering developing Transformers 3 in 3D, at this point, with the success of Avatar I"m pretty sure that most big tentpole films like Transformers will be getting the 3D treatment. It"s definitely early enough into production that they can shoot the film in 3D rather than convert it which is definitely a plus. nbsp;Variety reports:
Is anyone excited for Transformers 3D Is any one excited for a third Transformers The third installment is scheduled for a July 1, 2011 release. |

| Post subject: | Joe Johnston offers more CAPTAIN AMERICA Updates: Villian, L |
Joe Johnston offers more CAPTAIN AMERICA Updates: Villian, Look, Casting, and Costume Director Joe Johnston was bombarded with Captain America questions at his latest press junket for his new film The Wolfman. Collider, LA Times, Shock Till You Drop and AICN were all there to ask the question we all have on our minds, and Joe Johnston was kind enough to answer them. We already knew a few of the answers to the questions he was asked but there are also a few interesting surprises like who the villain will be. VillainIt"s been confirmed that Red Skull will be the villain in the film. So how freakin awesome is that! We kinda assumed thats who it would be, but it"s nice that we"ve got a solid confirmation. CastingSteve Rodger"s A.K.A. Captain America will definitely be played by an American actor. This is something we"ve heard from the very beginning, we also heard that Marvel was more interested in casting a big name actor in the role to appeal more to a world wide audience, but it sounds like Johnston has other plans. He wants to discover a complete unknown actor and surround him with bigger name actors. Hersquo;s currently testing five or six guys, ldquo;The youngest is 23, the oldest is 32. Most of the guys in the war are just kids, 18 or 19, but we want to go a little bit older.rdquo; Casting needs to be completed by March 1st 2010. CostumesThey are actually going to explain why Captain America wears a bright red, white and blue costume in the World War II battlefields:
According to Johnston the costume will be very close to the classic Jack Kirby-designed outfit, but as the movie plays out he will eventually be wearingnbsp;
Sounds freakin awesome to me! Location and Shooting DateWe already reported on this but, the film will be shot in the UK as most of the story is set in Europe. As you know it"s an origin story and pretty much the whole movie set in World War II, aside from ldquo;the bookends.rdquo;nbsp; Filming starts in London at the end of June. Visual LookThe film will be shot in 2D High Definition, with a visual style Johnston describes as ldquo;a bit different,rdquo; trying to interpret the visual style of the more recent comics ldquo;into a film in a way that I think hasnrsquo;t been tried beforerdquo; Hell yeah I"m excited! How can you not be! It sounds like they are doing everything right! I knew Johnston was the right guy to bring Captain America to the big screen. This guy gets it. I can"t wait to see who he ends up casting and I"m really interested to see this visual style he wants to make the movie in. Make sure to read the full coverage from the websites in the reference section below. What do you all think about Johnston"s plans for The First Avenger: Captain America |
