Hugh Jackman Says Jerry Seinfeld Convinced Him to Desist Playing Wolverine

While Hugh Jackman was wrestling with the decision of whether to continue playing Wolverine for awhile, he says it was comedian Jerry Seinfeld who convinced him to hang it up after Logan! The actor recalls talking to Seinfeld two years ago about why he decided to end Seinfeld after so many seasons on top, and said Seinfeld responded with the following:

"Look, when youre creating something its very distinctive not to run yourself dry. Its not about finishing on top necessarily, but making sure you creatively got something left, which propels you into whatever is next. "

Weirdly enough, we covered this story two years ago when he told that same story on Michael and Kelly, and the story has changed in the two years hes been telling it! For example, Jackman says in the first interview that finishing on top is distinctive, but then says its not distinctive in his telling to Fallon. Hugh also tells Michael and Kelly that he decided right in front of Seinfeld that he was quitting the role but then tells Fallon it was later at home with his wife. Im not calling Jackman a liar or anything, but its interesting to observe him tell the story two different ways and having two very different impacts based on how theyre told. Obviously, the one from a couple years back was closer to the event, but it feels as though Seinfelds mantra has resonated with Jackman enough that his new telling is blended with some of his own feelings as well. It would appear that Jackman is very excited about taking that "next creative step."

For Jerry Seinfeld, that next creative step was The Bee Movie, so maybe Hugh can shoot a bit higher than that! Im sure were all waiting to see what the actors next move will be after this, as we rarely see what an actor does after nearly two decades of dedication to a aspect! Side note, Jimmy Fallon does an awesome Jerry Seinfeld impresssion that I did not at all see coming! See all of that in the clip (via Comicbook) from the interview below.

Looks Like a New Marvel Superhero Will Be Introduced in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2

It seems like theres a new Marvel superhero that will be introduced to the MCU in James Gunns upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Weve already got a few new characters being thrown into the combine such as Ego the Living Planet, Mantis, and Ayesha, but it looks like Gunn may have added another aspect to the story.

The spread originated from Amazons new storefront for the films merchandise, which is broken down by each of the main heroes in the movie. Its there that a surprising select is revealed that we didnt previously know was involved with the movie. If you dont want to know who that aspect is, dont read ahead:

The select that appears on the list of characters is Darkhawk, who is an obscure Marvel hero that I could see a person like Gunn picking out of all the characters to use in the film. If youre not familiar with Darkhawk, heres a brief description:

looks-like-a-new-marvel-superhero-will-be-introduced-in-guardians-of-the-galaxy-vol-233

As a teenager, Chris Powell discovered an amulet allowing him to don the alien armor of Darkhawk. Belonging to an ancient sect of Shiar assassins known as the Fraternity of Raptors, it provides huge protective and fighting power to its wearer along with access to its Datasong which grants the ability to access memories and possible future outcomes of events.

Those are the kinds of powers could definitely come in handy and its not harsh to imagine them playing a role in the story. If he is in the film, it will be interesting to see how Gunn fits him into the story and adapts the aspect to fit into the MCU.

Theres no proof from Marvel regarding this characters involvement with the movie, but as io9 points out, he does get a illustrious place in Amazons banner. Hell, we know that Nebula is a main aspect in the film that shell be fighting alongside the Guardians in the story at some point, but her names not even mentioned. Why would they put Darkhawks select instead of Nebulas if he didnt play some kind of substantial role in the film?

Who knows, maybe hell make his big appearance in the new trailer tomorrow!

Director M. Night Shyamalan Hilariously Takes Credit for the Oscarss Tangle Ending

Im sure by now youve all heard about the crazy ending to the Oscars persist night. La La Land was announced as the winner of the Best Picture award but in a surprising tangle, the actual winner ended up being Moonlight. Personally, I think Hacksaw Ridge shouldve won.

Anyway, M. Night Shyamalan posted an awesome comment on twitter persist night hilariously taking credit for the surprise Oscar tangle that no one saw coming.

As you all know, Shyamalans signature storytelling element is the big tangle at the end of all of his movies. Its completely appropriate for the filmmaker to take credit for what happened persist night.

If you want to observe one of the biggest Oscar blunders of all time, you can check it out in the video below.

Watch: Emma Stones Post Oscar Reaction to Best Picture Controversy

By now, were all aware that the Oscars really botched the announcement of Best Picture, accidentally awarding La La Land the Oscar when Moonlight won. Of course, Emma Stone then has to trot out and give an interview shortly after while reporters then ask her how that moment felt. Im sure without asking many of us can assume "pretty shitty," would be understandable, but Stone took the loss with grace.

Emma got an Oscar anyway for Best Actress so she was probably less hurt than others at the mistake. I dont think anyone took the controversy as well as Ryan Gosling, however, who made the following face when the mistake was announced.

Good on the La La Land team for making the best out of a terrible situation. Hopefully everyone disappointed on stage gets an Oscar somewhere down the line.

Considering how long Star Wars has been a certified phenomenon and the sheer, mind-boggling amount of merchandise produced over the past forty years, its always kind of shocking to me when people come up with something that hasnt been done before. Case in point: today I found out about a Stormtrooper shot glass from The Fowndry that uses the authentic helmet molds created by industrial designer Andrew Ainsworth in 1976 as the interior of the glass.

Please drink responsibly. Thats not the hangover youre looking for.

13 Reasons Why is very close to getting confirmed for Season 2. The news comes from THR who says a writing team was assembled a couple weeks ago for the series. The news doesnt come as a huge surprise as the series has sparked lots of controversy and debate since its debut, and that usually means lots of people are watching it. It also seems kind of obvious the show would get a second season considering some of the cliffhangers left in the finale that I wont get into if you havent seen it yet. In a recent interview with the outletBrandon Flynn, who plays Justin in the series, he talks about some of the controversy surrounding the series saying:

"Alisha Boe (who plays rape victim Jessica) and I saw the New York Times article, which mentioned glorifying suicide. Thats a very easy way of not talking about it. Television is meant for entertainment, but I dont think suicide is glorified. Im not sure what they see in someone cutting their wrists as glorification. Alisha and I have talked the response [the show received] from certain fans who said watching our show saved their life. They have talked about the problems theyve had with self-mutilation, self-harm and addiction and how watching the show made them realize they have a life to live and that they mattered. That has really hit me."

Are you excited to see 13 Reasons Why get a 2nd season? Does the show shift away from Hannah now that theyve extensively covered her death?

2016 is about to come to a close, and its been a hell of a great year for movies! I saw so many great films this year, and like every year it wasnt easy to come up with my list of favorite movies. I just solidified my top 15 favorite movies of the year, and they include everything from big conceive films to small indie gems. Ive also included a diversify of different genres on my list including action, comedy, drama, adventure, horror, and sci-fi.

If you havent seen any of the movie on this list, you seriously need to get on that because every movie youll see on here is an incredible film that I think everyone needs to see, so please take the time to do so! I promise they will not disappoint you!

After you go through my list let me know in the comment portion what some of your favorite movies of the year were!

Hacksaw Ridge

The story that this film tells just completely blew me away. It was such a powerful film that was masterfully told by director Mel Gibson. Hes one of the best filmmakers working today, and this film reminds us of that. This film just completely overwhelmed me with emotions, and its the one film this year that I watched in theaters five times. Thats how much I loved it.

Doctor Strange

This was the most unique and different film that Marvel has made yet, and its one of my favorites! Ive been a long time fan of Doctor Strange and director Scott Derrickson and Benedict Cumberbatch perfectly brought him to life in this movie. I couldnt have asked for a better Doctor Strange film. I especially enjoyed the visual insanity! If there was one film to watch in 3D this year, it was this one.

Captain America: Civil War

Over the years, Marvel has been fine-tuning their skills in storytelling and filmmaking, and I can honestly tell you that this is the best film they have made so far. Its excitingly epic, and its going to completely blow your mind! Joe and Anthony Russo really turned up the heat on this film and its story was perfectly executed. - Review

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Rogue One is an utterly stunning Star Wars film and on my list of favorite Star Wars movies it ends up on the #2 slot right underneath The Empire Strikes Back. It dense a powerful punch and tells an insanely daring story with wonderful and unique characters that I completely fell in esteem with. I think it set a new standard for Star Wars film, and I hope the films that follow it can live up to that bar. - Review

Kubo and the Two Strings

Laika has perfected the craft of desist-motion filmmaking, and their latest film, Kubo and the Two Strings, is by far the best film they have made so far! Not only is it awesomely designed and exquisitely animated, but it tells a story that was also perfectly crafted. The film offers an explosion of emotions that completely overwhelmed me, and I loved the feels it gave me. - Review

Hunt for the Wilderpeople

This is a brilliantly written and directed film that I know for a fact audiences will esteem. Waititi has reached a new level of excellence in his filmmaking career with this movie. All of the characters are amazingly wonderful and likable, and you cant help but fall in esteem with them. Hunt for the Wilderpeople has got everything you want in a movie action, adventure, comedy, drama, danger, and excitement. I really couldnt have asked for anything more from this movie. In my mind, it was a perfect film. - Review

The Nice Guys

Russell Crowe and Ryan Goslings The Nice Guys was easily the most fun and comedically entertaining movie of 2016. This movie has it all, and it featured incredible performances by Crow and Gosling. This film might just be my favorite thing that they have done in their careers.

La La Land

Hollywood doesnt make movies like this anymore! Yeah, I know its not a comic book, sci-fi, fantasy, or horror film, but this is a film that any geek with an appreciation for film will absolutely fall in esteem with. This film is a musical, and its overwhelmingly charming in every way. Its also a wonderful tribute to the musicals of old Hollywood. Its dense full of stuff that I loved from the classic films from the golden age of Hollywood. - Review

Sing Street

I loved Sing Street so much! This was such a joyful uplifting and inspirational film that left me with a glowing bliss. The film came from John Carney, who previously made Once and Begin Again, both of which I thought were great. Sing Street is by far his best film, though, and I absolutely esteem the music!

Manchester By The Sea

This was the most powerful film of 2016, and it really touched my soul. It tells one of those dramatic stories that really makes you think about life and the trilas and tribulations that we go through. It deeply effected me in a way that changed my outlook on life and pushing through the trials I face the best way that I can. On top of that, Casey Affleck gave the best performance of the year and I hope he wins the Oscar that hell be nominated for.

Hell Or High Water

If you missed out on this little gem, then you missed out on one of the best films of the year. This was a modern day western bank heist film that was intense as hell and had some incredible performances by Chris Pine, Ben Encourage, and Jeff Bridges. Im a big fan of the western genre, and this was just such a brilliantly well-made film.

Arrival

When I went and saw Arrival, I got something that I wasnt expecting at all. This movie surprised the hell out of me because of how good the story was, and the ending of it caught me completely off guard, which I loved! A lot of movies dont abandon me in awe like this one did. I liked that it wasnt your typical spectacle sci-fi film. This was just a fantastic story with phenomenal performances.

Deadpool

This is a film that I never thought Id see happen. Fox was so adamant on not making it for years! But now it exists, and it couldnt have been a more perfect adaptation of the the Merc with the Mouth. It was a ridiculously fun action film that was just a bast to watch from beginning to end.

The Jungle Book

The Jungle Book was a simply stunning film in both its storytelling and visual awesomeness. Its a thrilling cinematic adventure full of action, drama, and comedy. It was a meticulously crafted labor of art, and its the best live-action adaptation from their animated properties. I couldnt have asked for anything better. - Review

The Conjuring 2

For me, one of the main requirements for a great horror film is that it has to scare the shit out of me. Ive been watching horror films since I was a kid, so Ive kinda become desensitized to them. Most horror films dont freak me out like they used to when I was growing up, so if a movie comes along that scares me now, then that movie is a complete success in my mind. The Conjuring 2 terrified me! - Review

If youre a big Twin Peaks fan you likely already know this, but if not be sure to watch this video! Essentially the story of Twin Peaks revolves around a former project in which Lynch started a project centered around the mystery behind the death of Marilyn Monroe. The project was dropped when no details regarding the mystery could be confirmed, and voila...Twin Peaks became a thing. Hear the story in more detail below.

Cool Concept Art For GUARDIANS VOL. 2 Show Alternate Designs For Ego, Mantis, Gamora, Star-Lord, and More

Some great new concept art has surfaced online for James Gunns Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. The art offers us a look at some of the alternate character designs that were done for several of the characters. Those characters include Ego, Mantis, Star-Lord, Gamora, Nebula, Rocket Raccoon, and more. Its pretty cool to see what some of these characters couldve looked like in the movie. Ultimately, I loved what the final designs ended up being. I actually really dig some of these designs!

The first set of art that you see above of Ego and Mantis were created by Costume illustrator Christian Cordella (via SR). The second series of art below comes from artist Andy Park. Check out all the designs and let us know what you think of the alternate designs.

This is one of the 1st versions of Mantis that I designed when starting the project. James Gunn took a liking to it & it was going in this direction for a long time until it was decided that going simpler was the way to go. That decision was made clear once *** was cast. Her natural look with some minor additions (antennae, contacts, lashes & wig) made the character come alive. I loved exploring Mantis' design. Happy Mother's Day everyone! Here's one of the 1st concept design versions I painted up of *** aka Starlord when starting #GuardiansoftheGalaxyVol2 I attempted a blue color scheme more like his original comic book look. #conceptart #design #illustration #costume #chrispratt #digitalart #digitalpainting #marvel #marvelstudios #starlord # #í #í #guardiansofthegalaxy #gotgvol2

I loved concept designing Nebula for both #GuardiansoftheGalaxy films. What a fun character to explore. I always saw her as Marvel's Sith Lord. And she was beautifully played by *** This concept painting shows her worn down look with her missing hand replaced with what was referred to as her new "shit hand" that only opens & closes by pulling the lever. It's the contrast of her being so highly advanced & her having the most rudimentary replacement hand ever. #nebula #gotgvol2 #conceptart #conceptdesign #costume #prosthetics #vfx #digitalart #digitalpainting #instaart #instaartist # #í #í #illustration #marvel #marvelstudios #gardensofthegalaxy

I did a ton of outfit/costume variations for Gamora on #GuardiansoftheGalaxyVol2 Here's one of the ones *** liked. We were going for more of a rock star vibe with the Guardians this time around. This is a semi-closeup of the back cover portion of the Art of #GuardiansoftheGalaxyVol2 book I had the pleasure of illustrating. I really enjoyed composing this illustration playing with the variety of designs of these characters off of one another and the contrasts of colors on this one. I especially like that I got away with painting a near pink face (Ego).
