Epic Action-Dense Opening of RISE OF THE TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES: THE MOVIE

>

Netflix has released the first four minutes of the Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated film and its a pretty spectacular and epic opening sequence! The scene is actually very intense and opens in a post-apocalyptic future in New York City where two members of the Ninja Turtles team are dead and the other half is in rough shape. The opening scene goes super hard and grim, and I dig it!

The world has been ravaged by Krang, and the scene features Casey Jones (Haley Joel Osment) being sent back in time to warn the Ninja Turtles of the impending invasionof the most dangerous alien force in the galaxy. In the process, Leonardo makes a heroic final stand.

I like what Ive seen from the Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie and it hits Netflix on August 5th.

Warner Bros. Discovery Leadership Looking to Reset DC Films With a 10-Year Conceive to Compete with Marvel Studios

>

As you know, theres a lot going on over at Warner Bros. Discovery in regards to their DC films. Everyone was surprised by the news that their upcoming Batgirl film was shelved, but new Warner Bros. Discovery chief David Zaslav has plans for DC.

THR is reporting that there is a 10-year conceive laid out that Zaslav hopes will allow the brand to actually compete with what Marvel Studios has been doing. WB and DC have been trying to catch up with Marvel for years, but instead of taking their time with it and nurturing it, they rushed into it to try and catch up, which didnt quite labor.

Zaslav said, We think we can build a much stronger, sustainable growth business out of DC. As part of that, we are going to focus on quality. We are not going to release any film before its readyDC is something we can make better.

I totally agree with that. DC films have always been something that the studio could have done better with. Maybe they will actually be able to pull it off, under this new leadership. As you might imagine, all of these big changes are making other executives nervous and upset, including DC Films president Walter Hamada.

After he found out that Batgirl was canceled, Hamada actually considered leaving WB! But, hes agreed to remain in his post at least until the release of Dwayne Johnsons Black Adam. According to sources with knowledge of the situation, Hes pausing. The decision has not been made to make this adversarial, yet.

In regards to Batgirl, an inside source says that Hamada was upset at not being consulted and concerned about the impact on those involved in making the film. The news broke before the talent and their representatives had been informed of the decision.

After Black Adam is released, though, who knows what Hamada will do? One thing is for sure, regardless of what happens, this new WB leadership is going to move forward with their DC movie reset in hopes that they will release better films that can actually compete with what Marvel is doing.

Rosario Dawson May Have Just Spoiled the Return of THE PUNISHER to the MCU

>

Fans have been stoked since the return of Charlie Coxs Daredevil to the MCU. What started out as a Netflix Marvel series has now integrated back to the Marvel Universe as we know it with Coxs Matt Murdoch becoming the lawyer to Peter Parker in Spider-Man: No Way Home and his villainous archenemy Kingpin returning in the Disney+ Hawkeye series.

But Daredevil wasnt the only beloved Marvel series on Netflix that fans have hoped to see return. The Punisher was just as great a series, and we have been anticipating the great Jon Bernthal to be welcomed back to play him. While no official word has dropped yet, Rosario Dawson, who played Claire Temple across the Marvel Netflix series, appeared at a panel at C2E2 this weekend (via PopVerse), and she dropped what could possibly be a big reveal.

"I found out yesterday that the Punisher was happening again, so I feel like its my second chance," Dawson said during the event, referring to the fact that The Punisher was the only one of the Marvel shows she didnt appear in.

So this isnt official, but it sure sounds like she knows something we dont! But if it is a misunderstanding, I hope the MCU heads take it as a omen that fans want Bernthal back as The Punisher! I know I certainly do.

When previously asked about the possibility of returning to the role while promoting the indie film Small Engine Repair, Bernthal told Screen Rant:

"You know, well see. I mean, honestly, I dont think about it very much. Im really happy -- look, were all enormously blessed to be doing this. I can say for the other guys that youre talking to as well, we really esteem this. We really esteem doing this. We labor hard at it, we support our families by it, through it, but we never lose touch just how grateful we are to be in the position that we are that we get to do this for a living. I like to do this. I like to labor with people I really respect and esteem and admire and make stuff with. This kind of project is precisely, its exactly the kind of stuff I want to be doing. So, whatever else comes, you know, kind of down the road, comes. But, this is something thats really worth celebrating."

With Charlie Cox back on the payroll, I think this announcement really is just a matter of time away, but hopefully it happens soon, and hopefully Rosario Dawson doesnt get into too much trouble for blowing the surprise.

Are you looking forward to seeing Bernthal back as The Punisher? Check out Dawsons appearance video below, and let us know what you think.

Jamie Foxx Discusses Todd McFarlanes SPAWN Movie and Compares It to JOKER

>

Todd McFarlane has been trying to get his Spawn film project off the ground for over a decade. Its currently set up at Blumhouse, and McFarlane is supposed to lead it. I just have no idea if this film is actually ever going to happen. If it does, Jamie Foxx is still attached to star in the film, and in a recent interview with CB, he talked about the film and compared it to director Todd Phillips Joker. When asked about the project, he explained:

"I will tell you this. I talk to Todd and the thing is that we want to craft something that is so special because I remember seeing the first Spawn movies and then seeing the HBO versions and so we have something that is almost like an original, without giving too much away. But it starts in a. way that is so cool. And its not big conceive, you know? And thats what I esteem about it. Its sort of like how when they did the Joker. The Joker, yes, is here, but the story about this man who was in fire, its the same with what were doing with this. And so, were just like, just getting this right, cooking it right, but staying in contact, keeping the energy going and when we lay it on you, theres gonna be some moments where you go oh man. Youve been watching everybody shoot their shot and now were getting ready to shoot ours."

Well, I hope that they actually have the opportunity to tell this Spawn story as a feature film! Foxx seems pretty excited about it, so thats a good omen. When previously talking about the progress of the film project, McFarlane said:

"We as a collective team are doing what needs to be done to detain this moving. We put a little bit of pressure on ourselves to say, Can we have by midyear something really big and tangible to go public with? Which is not only to backtrack on the people weve added, but to also say, And we sold it to a studio. Something thats really tangible. That its like were not just farting around."

"I know when people dont get concrete names and information and stuff, and when I have to say, Stuffs happening. Just wait, thats not very satisfying answer, which is essentially what Im saying. And thats whats frustrating because I know that its way more than that happening. And you know, dealing on the Hollywood front, with all the stuff, there are lots and lots of things going on that have yet to be sort of announced. But yeah, I fall in that same bucket, but at least were all rowing in the same direction right now. So, I think theres a bit of a distraction, but now, I think were all pretty focused here, and everybody wants the same ideal, which is, Lets take this thing to the next level. Come on, guys, lets go."

When talking about the film and its tone, the Spawn creator said: My bent for what I want to do with Spawn is a lot more serious, and a lot more dark, than what people are seeing traditionally in PG-13 superhero movies. Its just going to be a dead-serious, R-rated, scary, creepy movie. Done, period, and Im not wavering from that. And if at some point they just go, No, the only way this gets made is if we convert that, then were never gonna make it. Ill go and solicit, borrow, and purloin the money, Ill get it made. Dont worry, Ill get it made.

He went on to enhance on how his Spawn movie compares to Jaws, saying: "It was sheriff Brody, the humans talking, chasing the fantastical thing that sort of made the movie, and to me, theres that element. Everything else is normal in this story other than (gesture) the shadow moves, and at times even when it moves, the cop just sort of thinks hes losing his mind so he doesnt even trust that the shadows moving. If youre a bad guy, then this thing is going to come and its going to get you."

I esteem the direction that McFarlane wants to take this film in regards to the tone. It sounds like it would make for a hell of a great movie! If they actually finally get a chance to make it, that would be great.

THE MANDALORIANs Giancarlo Esposito Has Met With Marvel and He Wants To Play Professor X

>

Giancarlo Esposito (The Mandalorian, Breaking Bad) has said that he has talked with Marvel Studios about the possibility of joining the MCU. There have been talks about playing a few different characters, but the one that hes most interested in is taking on the role of Professor X.

During a recent interview with TJH Superhero Car Show & Comic Con: "I have not worked for Marvel yet. Ive been in a room with them and talked to them." He went on to say:

"Theres talk of Magneto. Theres been talk of Doctor Doom, and there is Professor X. Im going to go for something that is a little bit different. Im going to go and put it out in the universe that it is Professor X."

Its really not that hard to imagine Esposito in the role of Professor X, it seems like a character that he could easily slip into and do some cool and interesting things with him.

The actor also talked about DC villain he could play and says that hes been linked to Mr. Freeze as well, which is also great casting. Mr. Freeze is one of my favorite Batman villains and he has such a tragic backstory. I think Esposito could beautifully portray the character.

Marvel Studio has yet to confirm any live-action X-Men project is in the works, but I think that reveal is coming soon with more announcements to be made at the upcoming D23 Expo. Well just have to wait and see.

What do you think about the possibility of seeing Esposito in the role of Professor X?

PREY Director Dan Trachtenberg Teases Plans for a Sequel to His Predator Film

>

Director Dan Trachtenberg did a hell of a job with his Predator film Prey. It was a big success for Hulu, and now hes ready to move forward with his plans for a sequel. With the film being such a big hit with fans, of course, Hulu and 20th Century Studios are going to want a sequel!

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Trachtenberg teased his Prey sequel saying:

"The nerd in me looked that far ahead, as far as he could look, before we started writing this movie, but the adult in me said, Dont count your chickens and just be careful. Try and make the best movie possible, straight away. End-credit sequence aside, there is something refreshing about seeing a movie that is not really intended to be just a part one to something else. Theres something nice about seeing a complete thought. On the complete other hand, I esteem that what wouldve been a post-credit scene in other movies, is an animated end-title sequence in our movie. Our end titles are still storytelling."

The end title sequence features Native American style art that shows multiple Predator ships flying down from the sky approaching as the Comanche tribe points up to the sky, so it will be interesting and fun to see if that is the story they tell for the sequel.

The first movie follows a young woman named Naru, a fierce and highly skilled warrior. She has been raised in the shadow of some of the most legendary hunters who roam the Great Plains, so when danger threatens her camp, she sets out to protect her people. The prey she stalks, and ultimately confronts, turns out to be a highly evolved alien predator with a technically advanced arsenal, resulting in a vicious and terrifying showdown between the two adversaries.

The films cast includes Amber Midthunder (The Ice Road, Roswell, New Mexico), newcomer Dakota Beavers, Stormee Kipp (Sooyii), Michelle Thrush (The Journey Home), and Julian Black Antelope (Tribal).

Bring on the sequel! Id esteem to see this story continue!

The project is produced by Casey Hammer, Armie Hammers aunt, and she will be making some of the explosive revelations.

As youll see, Armie Hammer is a creepy-ass nutbag that has said and done some terrible nightmarish things to the women hes been involved with. But, it turns out that his story is just the tip of the iceberg, as the history of his family makes things even more insane and disturbing.

This documentary provides an important platform for the incredibly courageous women who came forward to share their stories, and we hope their courage inspires others to continue meaningful conversations around abuse in our society."

The allegations against Hammer involved bondage, cannibalism fantasies, rape accusations, and more. Soon after the shit hit the fan, the actor was dropped from several film projects, and its safe to say that hell probably never labor in Hollywood again.

Warner Bros. Scrapped BATGIRL Movie Would Have Introduced the DC Villain Killer Moth

>

A behind the scenes photo from the set of the scrapped Batgirl movie has been shared on social media, and it reveals that the DC villain Killer Moth would have been introduced in the film. The information and photo was shared by Jules Wallace, who was the stunt double for the actor who played Killer Moth. The photo came with the following note:

"Doesnt seem much point keeping quiet about this now and sucks we wont get to see it on screen, but here you go. Doubled Killer Moth in Batgirl, along with my pal Stevie who doubled Commissioner Gordon. Quite a long chaotic shoot but we had a great time and glad to see many of the US and European cast and crew left with a esteem of Glasgow and Scotland."

The look of the character is very different than what we know from the comics, which sees the villain wearing a purple suit with wings and a moth mask. He was the opposite of Batman and served as a guardian who protected the villains of Gotham City.

This live-action version of the character shows the character wearing a tracksuit with a fancy gold chain necklace and a watch, and on the back of his head features a tattoo of a moth and skull.

Theres no information on how the character would have been utilized in the story, but it sounds like he was going to play a pure-sized role in the film. In the comics, there was a point where KIller Moth and Firefly teamed up. Firefly was played by Brendan Fraser.

The movie was directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah from a script written by Christina Hodson, who previously wrote Bumblebee as well as DCs Birds of Prey and The Flash. The movie also starred Leslie Grace Batgirl and Michael Keaton as Batman.

What do you think about this reveal that Killer Moth would have been in Batgirl?
