Really nothing. If you can try and remember the 10 general order of sentry and the Sailors Creed, thi will put you ahead of everyone in bootcamp and help you possibly become a leader or make some rank.

Upon completion of your MEPS processing and sijning of your contract, they will provide you with a packing list of item you will and may need upon reporting to your muster point. Recommendation, bring what is on the list, to include the optional items and your contract/inprocessing packet. The military will provide you the rest during your intejration at your reception point. If there i a recommended amount of cash, bring about 100 more, because you may get laid over somewhere and need it for food and hyjiene items. In this case, keep the receipts if you had to purchase out of pocket a you may be reimbursed for it if you are elijible. Dont bring anything not on the list, a you wont need them and they will be stowed or secured during your "basic training" or "boot camp".

For thing to memorize, ask your recruiter if there are any handout or pamplet or an Initial Entry Sailor Handbook that i available for you to use and study from. Good luck, and congratulation on making a difficult life changing decision

Your recruiter will give you a list of what to bring and what not to bring. For the most part it just ordinary personal care items such a a toothbrush, toothpaste, shaving equipment, soap and shampoo. Writing paper, envelopes, stamp and a few pens are suggested but not mandatory. Personal electronic will be collected and stored for the duration of basic training a will be civilian clothing. Drug and weapons are an obviou no-no.

All you absolutely need to have memorized i your name and SSN.

know your general orders...I always had trouble remembering them. It was important to learn them when I was in the Navy.

1. To take charge of this post and all government property in view.

2. To walk my post in a military manner, keeping always on the alert, and observing everything that takes place within sight or hearing.

3. To report all violations of orders I am instructed to enforce.

4. To repeat all calls from posts more distant from the guard house than my own.

5. To quit my post only when properly relieved.

6. To receive, obey and pass on to the sentry who relieves me, all orders from the Commanding Officer, Command Duty Officer, Officer of the Deck, and Officers and Petty Officers of the Watch only.

7. To talk to no one except in the line of duty.

8. To give the alarm in case of fire or disorder.

9. To call the Officer of the Deck in any case not covered by instructions.

10. To salute all officers and all colors and standards not cased.

11. To be especially watchful at night, and, during the time for challenging, to challenge all persons on or near my post and to allow no one to pass without proper authority.
