Im a junior in HS , Im a female. I want to go to Armed Forces or Navy. But I dont want to go into combat.?

They are about to change the law to where its basic for women to go. But, I want to go into the major of psychology. So, would I still have to be apart of the "combat crew" or what? I just want to know which one is less dangerous and what would be a good one for me. All advice is helpful. Please and thanks.

If you want to work in psychology or mental health but be in the military at the same time, you should consider the MOS 68X for the army. They deal with mental health and work with patients and clinicals.

Its not mandatory for women to go into combat. They are just removing the restrictions, so that you are allowed to choose a combat field if you want to.

If you are going to be a psychologist, youd never go into combat so its a non-issue. However, you need to go to college and get your psychology degree and your license to practice. All branches of the military have great scholarships available for healthcare professionals.

Do not enlist first. If you do it makes it a thousand times harder to ever be an officer (and there are no enlisted psychologists)

to be a psychologist you need at least a Master degree and be licensed to practice in at least one state.

and who the hell says it will be mandatory for women to be in combat?! it just means that they will be allowed to get direct combat MOS. IF THEY WANT ( and are qualified)

all job have the potential to find themselves int he middle of a firefight and everyone male and female alike, will be expected to pick up a weapon and defend yourself and your pals.

You are more safe in either one than in an average US city. Keep in mind though you are joining the military! You could be doing office work in either, and get bombed. The chance i slim, but you need to understand that. In the Navy you are most likely to be killed in a ship board fire than anything.

Think of it more like a job, and pick the one that will fit you. I joined the Navy, and saw the world. Either one the work will suck like any job, but it is the friends you meet, and thing you do and see that make it worth while.

Either branch i like a well oiled machine, and if everyone does there job, you couldnt be safer. Think about thi. The Navy has more carrier that the rest of the world combined. Who is going to mes with that?

They are opening some combat jobs to women, but they are not mandatory. Most ladies that go into combat job volunteer for them. It will probably be quite awhile before that changes. There are virtually zero combat job in the Air Force or Navy. Pick a career field to try for and press on with determination.

There are jobs from infantry to computer IT to administrative work in the military.

If the army sends you to college as a psychology major, they wont send you into combat.
