If all households converted from AC to DC, how much more costly would voltage regulators be for your devices compared to wall transformers?

I heard DC has some advantages over AC in that its 3 times safer when shocked compared to AC (even though still dangerous) because of different reacts nes and impedences, among other things like needed to covert AC to DC for some devices. If all houses were to convert from 120v AC to 120v DC, how much more expensive would it be to purchase voltage regulators for all your house detain devices like phones and computers instead of wall transformers to step down the voltage?
