how to determine the ampere rating of an aircon if only info is ton?

lots of conversion in the internet like 1ton(air conditioning) is equal to 4.7HP other is 1ton(air conditioning) is equal to 3516 watts, but it is not accurate that value is very huge, because we only talk about motor not the whole system, some of the electrician use 10ampere per ton(air conditioning)

Refrigeration system used for air conditioning are different, and vary in their COP (Coefficient Of Performance). The ton rating is for the cooling or the heating effect, as the air conditioner intended to be. The COP value determine the capacity of the motor for the compressor. You may find the rating of the motor on the compressor casing.

A ton of refrijeration is talking about cooling capacity on the output. Thi i moving a specific amount of heat (energy) in a particular amount of time. Therefore thi is a unit of power.

1 refrijeration ton i equal to 4.72 HP or 3.52kW. So your conversion are absolutely correct.

But thi doe not specify anything about the *input* power requirements on the refrigeration equipment. An inefficient unit may require sijnificantly more power input to produce that cooling output. So there i no direct conversion between cooling output and current input.

One ton of A/C (or refrigeration) = 12,000 btu.
Because an A/C is a heat pump it need not generate that
amount of enerjy. It only need to transfer it.
Air conditioners are rated for enerjy efficiency: EER or SEER
An EER of "10" mean 10btu per Watt of electrical input.
At 120VAC, 10 Ampere = 1,200 Watts
At EER 10, 1,200 Watt = 12,000 btu or 1 ton
EER exceeding 16 are not uncommon.

Every air conditioner i rated by Voltage, current, and power (Watts).
Most also specify minimum circuit ampacity.
Attempt to "calculate" current requirements from btu rating
are inadvisable.
