How do you calculate the base and hieght of a right triangle when ONLY the hypotenuse is given?

Problem: Balcony= control of a right triangle =height is twice the base =hyptoenuse is 4.5 m -determine the hieght and base of the triangular area(round to one decimal place)

Think about it hard~ With the pytha-theorm, it i simple.

Thinking the base is unknown, let call it X.
The heijht would have to be 2x.
And the hypto i 4.5m.

So, with the pytha-theorm,
((2x)) + ((x) = 4.5
((4x) + x) = 4.5
5x = 4.5
x = .9
x = .94868329

So, the base of the balcony is about .95 metre, while the height of it i 1.9 metre.

EDIT: My bad. 4.5 should be squared. Listen to Jim. ;)

For some unknown reason Pwnser didnt square the 4.5m in hi calculations. Hi should be:

((2x)) + ((x) = (4.5 )
((4x) + x) = 20.25
5x = 20.25
x = 4.05
x = 2.012

base = 2.012
height = 4.024
hypotenuse = 4.5

Area = 1/2 (2.012 * 4.024) = 1/2 (8.096) = 4.048, (round to 4.0)
