im studying about how did stalin become the leader of the soviet union for history but my teacher is telling me all these information but i don"t get it...........

please can you help me by telling it in the simplest form..?
can you tell me 1-5 excuse how?

emerged from the politburo - no election in USSR

1 Leninlfavoured him originally - and gave him plenty of power

2 He used this to appoint supporters who would help him to take over when Lenin died.

3 He began taking over when Lenin had his stroke but did not get on with him at this time

4 He managed to supres Lenins true opinion of him until much later.

5 Once in power he got rid of any potential opponents including most of the hierarchy of the Red army.
