Chaparral Energy Inc., Oklahoma City, has sold its enhanced oil recovery properties in Oklahoma and Texas to Perdure Petroleum, which Delaware records indicate was formed Sept. 26 as a limited liability company.

MARKET WATCH: NYMEX crude settles at $63.95/bbl after volatile trading

Light, sweet crude oil for February delivery fell slightly on the New York market after swinging between a high of $64.35/bbl and a low of $63.47/bbl during the Jan. 18 trading session. Brent edged down a few cents, settling above $69/bbl.

Oil and gas companies operating in the Malaysian state of Sarawak must apply for licenses from the state by the end of next year, according to a July 1 statement from Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg. Until then, companies may conduct business as usual, meaning under agreements with the countrys state-owned Petronas, the statement said.

Light, sweet crude oil prices fell slightly on the New York market Apr. 4 to settle above $62/bbl but rose in early trading Apr. 5 after the US Department of Labor reported the US economy added 196,000 jobs in March.

SEA Hibiscus, an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Hibiscus Petroleum, has completed its acquisition of a 50% participating interest in the 2011 North Sabah enhanced oil recovery production-sharing contract and the joint operating agreement in relation to the PSC.

The US Bureau of Land Management approved its first master leasing plan for Utah, encompassing 785,000 acres of public land managed by its Moab and Monticello field offices. It will guide responsible oil, gas, and mineral development in southeastern Utah while protecting important natural resources, iconic scenery, and recreational opportunities, the US Department of the Interior agency said.

The government of Alberta is increasing its financial incentives for investment in petrochemical development based on oil and gas produced in the province. It is expanding its March commitment of as much as $1 billion (Can.) in royalty credits and loan guarantees to attract petrochemical investment and expand infrastructure for petrochemical feedstocks.
