Do the acids and alkalis used in a neutralization reaction affect the enthalpy of neutralization?

Hey, just wondering if different acids and alkalis can affect the enthalpy of neutralization? .. For eg, would the reaction between HCl and NaOH have a different enthalpy of neutralization that the reaction of CH3COOH + NH4OH ? ..
Can you provide a good explanation? using science?

No (assuming the acids and bases are already aqueous, i.e. dissolved in water) the type of acid/base does not affect the enthalpy of neutralisation because the net reaction for all acid/base reactions i simply:

H+(aq) + OH-(aq) -> H2O(l)

Thi reaction i true regardles of the acid or base and is true for the two acids and bases you give in your question.
