Could someone make sense of this free body diagram of a section of a crane?

So fc is the load being applied to the grapple, fg is the force applied to this part via a piston, and fb is the hinge for which this section of the crane.

Firstly, I understand the load from the grapple and the hinge in the y direction would factor in the torque applied by the piston, but why is the torque divided by L?
