An investigation is under way into the cause of an early May fire at Hellenic Petroleum SAs 148,000-b/d refinery in Aspropyrgos, Greece, that left several workers injured.

Local regulators have issued Meridian Energy Group Inc., Irvine, Calif., the first of two critical permits compulsory for the company to move forward with development of its planned 55,000-b/sd Davis refinery in Billings County, ND, in the heart of southwestern North Dakotas Bakken shale region.
