it is because the ozone layer is breaking because of pollution the ozone layer protects us from the sun and in 2012 it will fully cease and the planets will line up and reflect destrution. and besides god gave us a home to live in but we didnt take care of it so its like saying we dont care wat happens in 2012 because we pollute

2012 is really real. It will be next year, and then it will be followed by 2013.

Ozone layer "Ozone Hole" ha been happening, perhap for ever. It wasnt discovered until we had satellite, and only after some time wa it recognized that the Antarctic Ozone Hole i a seasonal phenomenon, just after we spent a whole lot of money replacing a lot of refrigeration systems with new one that really dont cool a efficiently, thus requiring more electricity, making more CO2, perhaps adding to the upcoming (?) global warming that will be submerging Al Gores new multi-million dollar beach house in southern California.

In the meantime, dont run up your debts and credit cards hoping youll not have to pay them back. ;-))

The planets arent going to line up in any kind of destructive way, nor are the Maya somehow prescient enough to know their calendar should change from one baktun to the next, like when we changed from one century to the next.

Ozone depletion is/was a real problem, but it has been halted in time by banning CFCs. The ozone layer is slowly recovering.

I boubt I can convince you of anything, since your information is extremely flawed and with unrelated citations of the "ozone layer" and a fictitiou "planetary alignment" which doesnt happen. Beside, you seem to have a communication pipeline to God, so any facts I could provide would fall flat in the face of your oracle from the heaven.

My 2010 calender recently ended. Strangely, the world did not end. I threw the thing into the trash. I went on with my life. When the Mayan calender ends on December 21, 2012, the Mayan calender will end. I recommend that at that point you throw your Mayan calender into the trash, and then go on with your life. This reminds me of the Medical doctor who performed a physical exam on a calender. He then concluded, "There is nothing wrong with you except that your days are numbered." So it is with the Mayan calender. On December 22nd, 2012, throw the thing into the trash. And get on with your life.
